BA (1st Class Honours Degree) in Fine Art ,MA (Distinction) in Contemporary Art Practice.
In 2007 when spending some time studying and rebooting my Art practice my interest in Signs and all types of Folk Art led me to experimenting with illuminated Marquee letters with light bulbs. Once popular in Fairgrounds, Cinemas, Theatres, Motels etc particularly in USA they had become a forgotten relic superseded by perspex and plastics.
I soon found out that the knowledge and expertise to make these letters was hard to find outside the United Staes where 'channel letters' are still made although mostly using LED and neon lights. I imported some equipment from Colorado and set about making my own.
Ive been making them ever since using all types of lights , programmers , materials and typefaces.
Today I make all sorts of lettering for individuals, shops, bars, Bands, Tv programmes , Festivals in the Uk and beyond some to order others are my own designs .This year my work is featured on Europes largest Fairground lighting manufacturers website.
